The Home & School Association Annual Meeting is Wednesday Evening

The Home & School Association Annual Meeting will be held in the Commons of Stephen May Hall, Wednesday, March 12th, at 7 p.m. The meeting will include the election of two new officers and a Question/Answer session with the Head of School and Division Heads. Sanford Student Recognized in Shakespeare Competition

Senior Sean Ryon recently won third place in the English-Speaking Union’s regional Shakespeare Competition held in Delaware. Sean performed a monologue as Falstaff from Henry IV. The English-Speaking Union of the United States is an educational organization whose mission is to promote scholarship and the advancement of knowledge through the effective use of English in an expanding global community.

Student Literary Magazine Receives Superior Rating

The National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) has selected Inscape, Sanford’s student literary magazine, to receive a rank of Superior-Nominated for Highest Award ranking in the 2007 NCTE Program to Recognize Excellence in Student Literary Magazines. The student editors of the publication were Alyssia Brady ' 07 and Anna Roosevelt ' 07. Upper School English teacher Helen Vermeychuk was the faculty advisor.

Jamie Milliski is WDEL's Female Athlete of the Week

Sanford Senior Named Presidential Scholars Candidate

Brian Nachbar has been selected as a candidate for the U.S. Presidential Scholars Program. Established in 1964, this prestigious program recognizes some of the nation's most distinguished graduating seniors for their accomplishments in a variety of areas including academic success, leadership, and service. Brian is now being considered for selection as one of 500 semifinalists. The Presidential Scholars Program, which selects up to 141 scholars annually, is one of the nation’s highest honors for high-school students.

Lady Warriors Advance to Semi-Finals, Home & School Meeting Rescheduled

The girls' basketball team will play in the semi-finals of the DIAA state championship on Wednesday night, 6:30 p.m., at the Bob Carpenter Center. Tickets will be available for pre-sale in the Commons of Stephen May Hall on Wednesday from 7:30-8:15 a.m. Tickets are $8.
