Sanford Student Wins Award in DuPont Competition

Morgan Ayars was recently recognized as a finalist in the 2008 DuPont Challenge Science Essay Competition. Morgan, who was one of four finalists selected from more than 10,000 entrants, wrote an essay titled Explaining the Impossible Goal. Both Morgan and Upper School physics teacher Andre Dagenais (who was the sponsoring teacher) won cash awards. To learn more about the winners and the contest, click here.

Summer Session Begins This Week

Sanford School begins summer session classes on Monday, June 23rd. Summer session can help your child improve grades and performance, reinforce skills learned in the past school year, get a head start for the next level or next year, fulfill summer reading requirements, and develop creativity. The Sanford Community Enjoys Lower and Middle School Closing Exercises

Congratulations Sanford School Graduates

On June 6th, Sanford seniors, including 20 lifers (students who have attended since grade one or earlier), graduated during Sanford's seventy-second commencement. Lisa Hutchinson Named Coach of the Year

Sanford girls' tennis coach Lisa Hutchinson has been named Girls' Tennis Coach of the Year, as voted by all of the high school girls’ tennis coaches in Delaware. Lisa led this year's Sanford team to a Delaware Independent School Conference title, sharing the honor with Tower Hill School.

Sanford Students to be Featured in All-State Theatre Production

Twelve Sanford students, representing all three divisions of the school, have been selected to perform in the All-State Theatre student production of Les Miserables. The show, which will feature the finest student performers in Delaware and the surrounding region, will run the last two weekends of June at the DuPont Theatre in Wilmington.
