Congratulations to our All-State Chorus Members

Seventeen Sanford School students have been selected for All-State Chorus. At the senior level, Cara Tozzoli, Katrina Medoff, Caitie Regan, Jackie Kalil, Rita Snell, Maddy Gondek, Lauren Olivieri, Gabe Saienni, Mike Rosauri, Richard Townsend, and TJ Potter were selected. The Junior All-State chorus members are Olivia Blythe, Emma Heberton, Erica McGaurn, Valerie Medoff, Maya Ram, and Cristina Riegel. Congratulations to these fine vocalists.

The faculty, administrators, and staff members of Sanford School wish you and your family a safe and enjoyable Thanksgiving holiday. During the holiday week, our Lower and Middle Schools are closed November 24th and 25th for parent conferences. All three divisions and our offices are closed November 26th, 27th, and 28th. Eighteen Sanford students have been recognized for post-season athletic honors. The students are Kevin Walpole, Brandon Wollaston, Aaron Moyer, Tim Eggen, Scott Humphreys, Brian Thresher, and Jordan Poarch in soccer; Diana Aulisa, Morgan Ayars, Amanda Noel, Emily Simonton, Katie Zubrow, and Sukey Hendrix for field hockey; Hannah Wagner, Wil Anderson, and Lilla Alchon in cross country; and, Gillian Sheffy and Miranda Warrington for volleyball. Middle School students recognized for writing

The Paralyzed Veterans of America recently named eighth-grade students Samantha Wilson and Sam Grandel as finalists in the Grades 7–8 category of the Fifth Annual Veterans Day Essay Contest. Sammie and Sam received a letter of recognition, a certificate honoring their selection, and a specially designed tee shirt. In addition, their names will be listed on the organization’s Web site, www.pva.org. Six other Sanford students—Anna Filak, Katelyn Gebbia, Lauren Lundberg, Valerie Medoff, Rachel Rosa, and Alexandra Rubin—earned essay participation certificates. Congratulations!

SRTC presents The House of Blue Leaves

Sanford Scores in Punkin Chunkin Competition

The Upper School science club, Project Beyond, enjoyed success during the recent Punkin Chunkin competition in Bridgeville, Delaware. At the conclusion of the three-day event, the Sanford trebuchet, Sanford Slinger, came in second place by launching a four-pound pumpkin 619 feet. Team Captain Jesse Taylor received a first-place award for his catapult, Punkin Pitcher, which launched a four-pound pumpkin 888 feet. Congratulations to the members of Project Beyond.

Field Hockey and Soccer Teams Advance to State Tournaments

Congratulations to the boys’ soccer team on a #12 seeding in the upcoming state championships. The soccer team will play against Dover High School @ Caravel Academy, at 6:00 p.m., on Tuesday, Nov 4th. Kudos also to the girls’ field hockey team on a #13 seeding. The field hockey team will take on Red Lion @ Red Lion, at 2:30 p.m., on Wednesday, Nov 5th. Tickets, which are $5 for all first-round soccer and field hockey games, will be sold at the gate. Go Warriors!
