Sanford School became the first school in Delaware to win a state championship in both boys’ and girls’ basketball in the same season. The Lady Warriors defeated the Silver Eagles of Smyrna on Friday, and the boys’ team conquered the Dover Senators on Saturday to capture state titles. Congratulations to these outstanding student-athletes.

Middle School student wins speech tournament

Seventh grader Samantha Stevenson recently won first place in a speech tournament sponsored by Saint Edmond’s Academy. Samantha earned her award for delivering an electrifying rendition of a poem in Spanish. Congratulations to this fine World Language student.

SRTC presents Little Women

Student Literary Magazine Receives Superior Rating

The National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) has selected Inscape, Sanford’s student literary magazine, to receive a rank of Superior in this year’s NCTE Program to Recognize Excellence in Student Literary Magazines. The student editor of the publication was Lauren Ritter ‘ 09 . Upper School English teacher Jim Weeks was the faculty adviser.
